New publication on the 1-minute sit-to-stand test

Röhr et al. show that a simple chair-based field test elicits measurable immune-metabolic responses

A new study from our group has been published in Scientific Reports. Wiebke Röhr and colleagues examined how the body responds to the 1-minute sit-to-stand test (STST). In 28 healthy adults, the test pushed blood lactate above the anaerobic threshold and triggered a marked increase in circulating immune cells. Beyond assessing functional capacity, the STST can therefore serve as a standardized stimulus for studying immune-metabolic responses in clinical and non-clinical settings.
